How to Use Zoho SMTP Settings on WordPress

In this post, I’m going to show you how to use Zoho SMTP settings on WordPress.

This will enable your visitors to send emails from your WordPress contact form, without the email going to the spam folder.

Note: If you need to send marketing or transactional emails from WordPress, then I recommend something more advanced, like ElasticEmail.

Here’s what you’ll need before you start:

If you don’t already have a business email address with Zoho, then check out this tutorial before proceeding.

Here are the steps for adding SMTP to WordPress with your Zoho email account.

First, go to Plugins > Add New, and search for “smtp”. You’ll see the results and you want to install and activate WP Mail SMTP by WPForms.

Then, go to the plugin settings and enter your Zoho SMTP settings:

Under Mailer, choose Other SMTP
Add in SMTP Host: smtp.zoho.eu
Choose TLS under Encryption
Make sure SMTP port says: 587
Then check Authentication
Add your email in SMTP Username and your email password under SMTP Password.

Now you can test a contact form on your website to make sure it sends the email:

Check the email address you used to setup your contact form to make sure the email has come through:

Congrats, you’re done!

Here are a few of the advantages and disadvanges of using your Zoho email account as the SMTP on your WordPress site.

Zoho’s SMTP service isn’t designed to be used for website marketing and transaction emails (it’s best to use a dedicated SMTP service)
Deliverability isn’t a gaurantee
Not great for ecommerce sites, because of the sending limit
