How to Add Social Media Icons to Wordpress

In this post, I’ll show you how to add social media icons to WordPress.

These are the buttons that link to your own brand’s social media accounts.

When you add social media icons to your website, you’ll have a link to your social network accounts so your visitors will be able to follow you.

Here are the steps for you to add them to your WordPress site.

Go to your plugins inside WordPress and search for “Lightweight Social Icons” and install and activate the plugin:

The go to your widgets area and add the Social Icons widget to the sidebar you them to appear on:

When you expand the widget, you’ll see the options to customize the settings.

Here are my settings:

Give the title something like Follow Me or Find Me On and choose the icon size and boder radius.

If you choose 10px for the border radius, you’ll get very rounded edges. In my example, I wanted to make mine a circle, so I made the radius 50px.

Then choose the background and text colors and make sure you select Open links in new window.

At the bottom is where you choose the social networks you want to see an icon for.

Select the social network you want and paste your social network profile URL.

Publish your changes and you’re done.
